During 2-23 of February, an Argentinian comic artist, Paula Andrade will be showing her drawings in an exhibition at the Library of Kallio in Helsinki.
It is the first show of the Argentinian comic book artist Paula Andrade in Helsinki. Inspired by the Eläintarhan Huvila and her period as artist-in-residence, her work explores the meaning of home and the connection between the original owners of the Villa and the current residents.
Patterns based on the house's furniture and wallpapers make their way into her visual narrative while her personal impressions and the Villa's history merge together in a quest to bring forth the voices from the turn of the 20th century to present day.
The exhibition is organised by the Embassy of Argentina in Helsinki and Paula Andrade in cooperation with City of Helsinki Villa Eläintarha and Annantalo Arts Center, and Kallion Kirjasto. It is part of the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of bilateral relations between Argentina and Finland.
